Adult Tsuga tree. Site description: cove, on the side of a south-facing slope. May be rooted on top of a large rock, or an old stump. The trunk is immediately circled by a .5 to 1 meter depression in the ground. Stately tree. Other hemlocks in the area are on northern slopes.
