Kann das ein Pilz sein? War an mehreren Bäumen zu finden. Nicht schleimig, eher hart. Mitten im Wald, keine Baustelle in der Nähe 😉

I don’t know if it’s a mushroom or not, but it looks like it came out of that hole in the tree. Other things to consider include a spray foam applied by a person - perhaps a treatment against some other organism attacking the tree? Or possibly the dried remains of tree sap that has run out the hole?

Thats what I thought in the beginning… but it was on other trees too (without a hole in the trunk). It was in the middle of a forest (unmanaged forest reserve), so I guess a treatment against forest pests is very unlikely. It still can be that some crazy person made a „joke“ and sprayed some foam rubber onto the tree trunks. Thanks for your help lancelike!!
