Yes this is black nightshade and the berries are edible when ripened to a shiny black. It's a different plant than poison nightshade (belladonna), so there is a lot of confusion online about it due to the similar names. The big difference I would say is that black nightshade has the little white flowers. But you should research the features before eating.
